Tired of dreary mood lighting? Looking for something different? Forget about boring halogens and neons and enter the stratospheric universe of Erwan Boulloud. Seemingly opposing forces, light and shadow play with each other, creating another depth, another dimension. To be used by alone or in threes (odd numbers always work best) above your dining table or bar.
Who is Erwan Boulloud? Erwan is part of a young generation of designers trained in Paris at École Boulles, a promising talent who is already making his mark. He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the French design world, including Hubert le Gall and Hervé Van der Straeten, just to name two. After a stint working on the layout of the collections at the Louvre and other museums, he opened his own atelier in Paris where he could focus on his original creations. His distinctive characteristic? An immense creative liberty that cannot be stopped by technical limits (technology has to adapt to his liberty and serve its intent), and an inspiration that draws from nature, as well as the continual evolution of energy and mechanics.
His lighting fixtures: The play of light and shadow is at the center of Erwan's creations. His wall lights, hanging lamps and table lamps take on round, oblong, or spherical forms like planets or stars—alive, vibrant and luminous, and at times brought together in veritable solar systems.
